I am Neale Genereux, a Canadian software developer with over a decade of experience in the industry. I’ve always had an interest in art, and especially the kind of classic fantasy artwork found in tabletop RPG rule books. Since my programming abilities far exceed my artistic talent, my projects tend to end up as some combination of the two. This has led me to take on projects dealing with digital art generation, procedural generation, and digital image manipulation.
“Blood of the Mage” was born from a D&D character I once played named Yenven Mageblood (and later his brother, Benven Mageblood). It is just about the cheesiest high fantasy name I can imagine, and ended up thoroughly stuck in my head. When it came time to launch a blog for my projects, it just seemed appropriate.
